Spanish Lakes benefits Treasure Coast Hospice

Spanish Lakes Square Dance benefits Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation

The 9th Bi-annual Spanish Lakes Beginner Square Dance recently raised nearly $2,000 to support charity care at Treasure Coast Hospice. The event was held on Feb. 2nd at Spanish Lakes Country Club Village.  The New England Club has sponsored each of the events, raising a total of $16,000 over the years for the Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation. The club members all contributed in some way.

Mike Doughty, Caller from Stuart, led a sold-out crowd of new dancers through many maneuvers. Several of the Clubs in the Village also contributed to the dance’s success including The Bocce, H.O.A, Tennis, and Veterans’ Clubs.  Proceeds from the Silent Auction, chaired by Bob and Karen McNulty, generated more than $400.

Jimmie Anne Haisley and Bryan Beaty, Treasure Coast Hospice board members, attended this year’s exciting event, providing information about the mission and vision of Treasure Coast Hospice and the care being delivered in the community.

“”Hospice and Square Dancers, a blend of great people…they both work as a team!” said Event Coordinator Gerrie Purcell.
